To get started with an AI Agent you can either use the project creation wizard or - if you are in an existing project - go to the sidebar and select Build -> AI Agents. In the AI Agents overview you create a new AI Agent by clicking Create or New AI Agent to start the AI Agent creation wizard.

  1. Give your AI Agent general settings like a name, a description, and an avatar.
    The name could be a name like "Peter Parcel", a brand like "ACME Logistics", or a thing like "ACME Locker". Think of the description as a short bio or resume that serves two purposes. First, it helps the large language model understand the agent's personality, and second, it is displayed in the AI Agents overview. Typically, you write something like "Peter Parcel, a father of two from Portland, loves biking and espresso. He works at ACME Logistics, combining his passion for movement with his expertise in logistics.".

  2. Set up the speaking style.
    The speaking style, often called tone of voice, allows you to adjust your AI Agent's verbosity and formality.

  3. Assign knowledge and instructions to your AI Agent to define agent specific content and shape the behavior.
    For now, we are not using any knowledge (see “Make knowledge available to your AI Agent”) and will keep the instructions as they are. If you wish to add or refine instructions, ensure they are not contradictory with the AI Agent’s description and job details from the next chapter to avoid confusing the LLM and causing unexpected results.

  4. Make your AI Agent secure.
    You can grant your AI Agent access to the user’s contact profile to personalize the experience (see Give your AI Agent a memory). Additionally, safety instructions can be enabled or disabled to address common Generative AI risks. For now, we’ll leave both settings unchanged.

  5. In the last step, select a job and click on Create & Chat to see your AI Agent in action.
    In this step, select the Default job to set up a standard Flow with your AI Agent. Finally, you can say Hi to your AI Agent. If you missed this step, no problem – your AI Agent can always be assigned to a new job later
